Svetislav Stan\u010di\u0107, the founder of the Croatian piano school, introduced professional standards into Croatian concert life. He trained a number of renowned Croatian pianists and teachers, including Bo\u017eidar Kunc, Branka Musulin, Ivo Ma\u010dek and Melita Lokrovi\u0107 and Ladislav \u0160aban in the 1930s, and Jurica Murai, Stjepan Radi\u0107, Zvjezdana Ba\u0161i\u0107, Mirjana Vukdragovi\u0107, Ranko Filjak, Branko Sep\u010di\u0107, Dora Gu\u0161\u010di\u0107, Pavica Gvozdi\u0107, Vladimir Krpan and Sretna Me\u0161trovi\u0107 in the 1950s and 1960s.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Since its founding, the tradition of the Organ School has been promoted through the activities of the renowned organists, composers and teachers Franjo Dugan and Franjo Lu\u010di\u0107, \u010cedomil Dugan and Andjelko Klobu\u010dar.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 1993, the distinguished Croatian harpsichordist Vi\u0161nja Ma\u017euran initiated the study programme in Harpsichord.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ABOUT THE STUDY PROGRAMME<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During their studies at the Department, students acquire and master skills of playing the instrument, which is the principal subject of study, and gain knowledge in skills related to their chosen area of study.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The music theory subjects <em>Solfeggio, Harmony, Musical Forms and Styles, History of Music, Introduction to Piano Literature<\/em> and others, practical disciplines, <em>Chamber Music, Piano Practicum, Accompaniment, Generalbass, Basso Continuo<\/em>, provide the foundation for a broad and thorough study programme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Among elective subjects, students can choose from subjects that deepen or broaden their knowledge, as well as those that develop new knowledge. Upon successful completion of some of the elective modules in their entirety (<em>Pedagogical Module, Jazz Music, Vocal Accompaniment <\/em>(<em>only<\/em> <em>Piano), Organ Restoration (only Organ), Early Music, Contemporary Music, Sound Engineering, Cultural Management, Leading an Ensemble)<\/em>, students acquire additional professional competencies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The study programme is completed after passing all the required exams, writing a thesis and by giving a public performance &#8211; their final exam, in the form of a solo recital.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>COMPETENCES GAINED IN THE STUDY PROGRAMME<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The graduates of the Integrated Undergraduate and Graduate Study for Instrumentalists: tracks<strong> Piano, Harpsichord <\/strong>and<strong> Organ <\/strong>can work as independent artists and\/or performers: either as soloists, members of chamber ensembles or as orchestral musicians.
